Finding or setting up the right studio space for your lash business is a crucial step in creating a comfortable and professional environment for both you and your clients. Your workspace should not only be aesthetically pleasing but also functional and ergonomically setup ensuring the best conditions for lashing safely and effectively.
Size Matters
But It Can Be SmalI

Lash businesses don’t require a large space, but you do need enough room for a treatment bed, a chair, storage for your supplies, and a waiting area if you accommodate multiple clients. A cozy but well-organized space will help you create a relaxing atmosphere without overspending on rent. Here’s what to look for when choosing the perfect studio space:
Ventilation & Airflow

Good airflow is essential, especially because lash adhesives contain fumes and chemicals that can linger in the air. Look for a studio with:
A window that can be opened to allow air in
A ventilation system to keep air circulating
Space for a fan, humidifier or air purifier to improve air quality and minimize fumes
Temperature & Humidity Controls

Lash adhesives work best within a specific temperature and humidity range. A studio with access to a thermostat is a must, so you can maintain ideal conditions. If you’re renting a shared space, confirm that you have control over the temperature and that other tenants activities (like hair styling tools) won’t interfere with your settings. Invest in a hydrometer and store inside of your lash room to keep track of temperature and humidity changes at all times.
Good Lighting

Lash artists rely on proper lighting to create precise, symmetrical work and capturing high quality footage of your work for social media.
Your space should have:
Ample natural light, if possible
Bright, neutral overhead lighting
Space for a professional lash lamp
Quiet & Relaxing Atmosphere

Clients want to have a relaxing experience while getting their lashes done. Create a peaceful environment by avoiding spaces near:
Busy streets or high-traffic areas
Noisy environments like salons with blow dryers, loud music or other distractions
Any shared space where scents, sounds, or temperature settings could affect the quality of your work and atmosphere
Private vs. Shared

If you’re renting a shared space, make sure:
There are no strong fumes (like hair dye or nail acrylics) that could impact air quality
The space isn’t too humid or hot from steam treatments or blow dryers
You have your own designated area that can be locked and kept clean at all times
A private studio gives you full control over your environment, but it may cost more. You can weigh the pros and cons based on your budget and business goals.
Final Thoughts

Your studio should be a place where you and your clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and safe. Prioritize airflow, lighting, temperature control, and noise levels when choosing a space. Whether you’re renting a private studio or sharing with others, making the right choice will set your lash business up for long-term success!
